Istanbul is a megalopolis located in the northwestern part of the country, also known by the nickname “Second Rome”. Up until the Ottoman conquest in 1453, it was considered one of the largest cities in Christianity, and later became the capital of one of the greatest empires in history for ve hundred years. Despite raw globalization and capitalism in uences, Istanbul still preserves its original traditions. We visited many mosques, we got lost in the spice markets, and we met many di erent people that provided us with suggestions of the places to see which are not usually present in tourist guidebooks. We were contacted by Noha, a very friendly girl who is also very politically active. It was with her that I carried out of one of my most signi cant shoots, which seemed like anything but a typical wedding. The photography in question is a cry for freedom from the current Palestinian conditions.
